No, this wasn’t just an excuse to get lots of Scouts wet it was a serious scientific investigationinto the waterproofness properties of modern plastic overcoats. Getting wet was involved in the process but this is a necessary requirement under such circumstances.
It all started with a light shower, growing steadily into the torrential downpour, so kindly recreated by orange buckets. See the results below for just how dry the Scouts stayed.
