Here’s what a couple of Scouts write afterwards:
I’ve never been to summer camp before so I didn’t know what to expect. I am happy I survived a week without proper toilets or a shower. Also I enjoyed it because I got to meet some old friends that I knew from Cubs that I haven’t seen since Fundays 2018. My favourite activities were abseiling and gorge scrambling, I had never done either before and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t done a summer camp before.
After hours of traffic we arrived in a field which was to be our home for a week. The first job was to put up the tents, then we had to dig the poo pit!My favourite activity was abseiling off a bridge, the view was amazing you could see a dam.On the camp site there was a river where lots of swimming took place this also doubled as our bath…Dizzy olympics was dizzy, Tokyo missed out on that event! The House of marbles had a massive marble run, we also saw glass being made and there was also a huge selection of marbles to buy.The normal camp fires, singing and cooking took place. On the last day we took down the tents and some lucky scouts got to fill in the poo pit!Everybody had a great time and it was great to be able to go camping again.
