Scheveningen Beach and Report – Day 5
Day 5: Beach day and paddle boarding. We headed back to Scheveningen Beach, on a lovely day this time! Time was spent stocking up on churros, ice cream and other healthy food, before we headed down the beach to get on with paddle boarding. Some opted to surf instead, due to quite a strong rip current in the North Sea, but those who went paddle boarding had a tough time battling the surf and current – it was certainly harder than last year when we did it on a nice calm lake!
Meanwhile a certain one-handed scout was putting two-handed leaders to shame in a game of glow in the dark crazy golf…
The world championships of King Kubb (we think it’s a Dutch game!) began on site, with some intense play from both patrols in the first match of the season. Many skulls were bashed and femurs thrown (all pieces of the game!).
To top the day off, we had a super easy and tasty dinner of Dominoes – clearly we are making sure we try all the local cuisine at any opportunity!
Alexis also discovered the importance of reading labels, even if it’s in a foreign language…
