Shoreditch Graffiti

Hip and happening Shoreditch to the untrained eye is run down and full of walls scrawled with ‘stuff’. However, after just a few minutes you learn to appreciate the skill, determination and beauty of the graffiti art work that daubs almost every building.

Plenty of big names, including our very own Banksy. A particular favourite of most was though was the chewing gum art… disgusting or brightening up a rather horrid habit!?

(Mind you: I think it was only me that got truly excited by a road called Bash Street…)

After the tour, we donned gloves, put on our trendy creative caps and learnt the whys and wherefores of graffiti art. Tip number 1: (as made explicitly clear – do not look at the spray, to make sure it works) Oh well, no lasting damage done thankfully…

We were then let loose on the walls, the cars and vans parked nearby were strictly out of bounds! One young leader discovered his true inner hooliganism by defacing as much as he could. Others, thankfully were just plain excited with much creative talent coming to the fore.

As mentioned on Facebook, any rise in graffiti around the North Bristol is so obviously ‘street art’ not vandalism!!!

I think what is more likely though, is a growth in trendy beards.
