and the very brilliant (but scary) Newport Transporter Bridge!
Pulling up to park within sight of the Transporter Bridge was the first time your realised just how big it really is…
…54 metres from the walkway to the high tide mark and 278 steep steps to climb. All very exciting! Not many nerves, everyone made it and enjoyed the views of Newport (and beyond) from the top. One of the Scouts was invested in windy style. We then walked over the top with the see-through grating beneath us.
Excellent fun!
The day was then followed in the Welsh National Velodrome, just round the corner.
