Day 4
It was an early start on Thursday as we trundled off to the tube at sparrow fart and fight our way through the massive Underground throngs at Holborn station. We arrived at White City in plenty of time to spare so various photo calls took place before we split into two for our backstage BBC tour.
Most were not disappointed, some saw a few minor celebrities around the cafe’s and corridors of television centre. We saw the newsroom (including a 5Live comfy chair!), weather centre corridor (just behind this wall) and saw a couple of studios where all the filming takes place. Most Scouts enjoyed the bit at the end when it was proper hands on with camera’s, voiceovers, news reading, sound effects etc. etc.
Lunch was in Hyde Park, followed by some aerobic sessions for some. On route to the museums we stopped off at The Royal Albert Hall and recreated a famous photo from 3 years ago.
Dinner was at Nando’s chicken emporium, where they do free refills of drinks…
