Summer Camp 2014<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

…<\/span>\u00a0For 4 of our older Scouts 24 hours was spent away from civilisation and leaders with their own little expedition. Another Scout camp was found just up the valley and despite a few\u00a0minor wrong turns they made it in good time. This didn’t stop at least one of the leaders panicking – after an hour of searching the Scouts were not to be found – only because the leaders were searching off the\u00a0given route, such confidence they have in their Scouts!!<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u00a0The campsite caused a few worries, only becasue we neglected to tell them the full story until they arrived. It was however, a gorgeous setting. The dead badger had recently been removed from the field kitchen, which thankfully we had not planned to use anyway. Roped areas were to be avoided, due to the National Trust filming field mice live. Water was from the little spring, again thank goodness for the packed\u00a0water purification tablets. The best bit though were the toilets on ‘that side of the forest – over their somewhere’ – one brave Scout spent a number two the following morning, the after feeling: ‘liberating!’\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The following day, after a breakfast of bland flakes, they hiked\u00a0over 400 metres to Dunkery Beacon, the highest spot on Exmoor. <\/span><\/p>\n

A fantastic achievment and worthy praise to the four Scouts who completed an incredible couple of days. <\/span><\/p>\n

Having sorted these photos into the correct rotation etc. some little computer goblin has decided to put them back\u00a0the wrong way round.<\/span><\/p>\n
