Malta 2013<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0beach!<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0When we first visited over Easter in the previous year, the beach didn’t exactly give off the vibe of anyone ever having used it, ever. However, much to Clive’s\u00a0relief when the coach pulled up on the first morning the beach was in use, as was the sea, complete with bouys to stop stray boats (and swimmers). <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Whilst busy there was plenty of space and our first visit everyone dived in the sea almost straight away, gorgeously warm bath water is best way to describe it. Together with the specatular view of Valletta across the Grand Harbour this was a undoubtably the coolest place to sit and relax, which we did pretty much every day. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our only complaint is the amount of fag ends strewn about, never complain about British beaches again! Still, it’s way far better than what I was warned about by a concerned parent of another Scout from another troop, who visited many years ago. Many, many\u00a0years ago, thankfully.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Most days we were treated to something psecial sailing by, either out to sea or back into the Grand Harbour. One day was a large container ship, another a massive cruise liner, another and my absolute favourite: a complete oil rig just cruised nonchalantly\u00a0past.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>Half way through the local council obligingly installed a small plastic slide on the pontoon bit. Thank you very much! Within 24 hours it was rocking slightly, not due to us I hasten to add, and the safety sign was never put in correctly to start with. It lasted the time we were there though and was brilliant fun…<\/span><\/p>\n
