Sunday saw the Nick and Toby show return for a fun-filled day of activities on site. After a certain error with pancake ingredients, breakfast was finally eaten and we were ready to get underway! The first challenge of the day lay in a big cooking tray full of cosmetics…
Everyone had to doll themselves up in full, extra-trashy drag to make themselves look as fabulous as possible. Subtlety wasn’t an option, as we made the scouts go for the full works. The idea was that the patrol with the most preserved makeup at the end of the day would win, and a swim in the sea removed all but the thickest of lipstick and mascara face-paint.
Ultimate frisbee followed, with a round robin competition between patrols. The lightweight £1 discs had excellent fun in the sea breeze, but didn’t stop some excellent games taking place! Well done to the Party Rings for emerging victorious.
After lunch we moved into the day’s main attraction; the return of the dizzy olympics! This time we mixed a few non-dizzy, but endlessly entertaining relay races into the mix. Crowd favourites included the dangly cup race, sweet bobbing, and the dizzy fireman’s carry race, where would-be assailants were on hand, ready to be judo-chopped. We also included some classics such as dizzy egg and spoon, dizzy and slippy wheelbarrow and dizzy slalom.
Valuable life lesson learned: pancake mix only needs 100g of flour per group, NOT per person!!
