Rafting
It was like a scene from Dunkirk,
…the channel from Veruda to the desert island was only short and for a while it was invaded with Scouts evacuating from one shore to another. Rafts filled the space with Scouts and leaders attached to them. An impressive sight indeed. Especially upon the return when you could see their faces.
The island itself was overgrown and covered in rats! Which were spotted frequently, however they smelt the Scouts and clearly stayed away. Everyone bedded down following a meal of superbly made Jeffa Cakes, little sleep was evident the next morning, apart from those who had chosen their spot with a little more thought than just the view. Admiring a lovely sunset was the entertainment of the evening.
A fantastic achievement, well done!
