 Pula

What happens if you stand in Scout uniform outside a Roman Temple in the middle of Pula for just 5 minutes?

You end up getting asked to take photos several times over…

Always happy to oblige, if a little difficult to explain why I’m laughing, but that was why I was late for the Scout rendevous!

Pula is nice, lovely in parts, but Rovinj is by far better. Pula does boast a simply enormous Roman Amphitheatre though, clearly visable from the air, when you fly over it! Remarkably intact it is easy to imagine the blood and gore that once occured.

The blood and gore that was so dramatically recreated by 62nd was surprisingly largely ignored by the watching public. Despite Daisy’s sterling effort to get the audience on her side she met her match with the Lioness (or was it just a nasty horse!?!) and her Lion Cub.

Lots of ooo’s and ahhh’s though were provided by the expectant 62nd crowd.

A short visit to Pula, which missed some interesting bits, but was enough to whet our appetites for our first full day in Croatia.

 Wonderfully hot.
