London 2019

Underground, St Paul’s Tate and Covent Garden

Travelling the big dark tubey thing that sprawls across London.

Following our arty morning in Shoreditch and a short bus ride later, we enjoyed a rather good London view on the roof of a posh version of Cribbs Causeway’s mall, and the ultra modern Tate (complete with Sainsbury’s till receipt and couscous city…). Some minds were blown, others bemused and a few awe-inspired! We all felt suitably challenged by the bizarre art after just a couple of hours wandering around…

One night was devoted to the eat out challenge in Covent Garden. Find somewhere to eat for a very generous £10. One group found a Pizzeria with a chef who runs a Scout Troop – their free Bruschetta and Banoffee Pie followed! Result! A valuable lesson in why it’s always a good idea to wear your necker on camp!

Another team found a pie shop (luckily not Mrs Lovetts from the London Dungeon. The leaders liked the sound of this and enjoyed tasty pies themselves. Another group sadly went to Tesco for a meal deal…

Sigh…

The after dinner entertainment was our very own Jack! Who got dragged in by the funny entertain man. He asked Jack to throw things at him whilst he was stood on a wobbly plank of wood. He’s clearly never met our Jack – who relished the chance and threw with gusto!

When done, Jack got an excellent and deserved round of applause!
