There was a stunning walk directly from the campsite, through a fantastic gorge before ascending upto the top of the Peak District Needles. Sadly we didn’t get right to the top as the last 5 metres were ‘out of bounds’ unless you had an official permit from Scout HQ.
Daisy still managed a jig though.
The best entertainment of the week was when we took the Scouts up the Arse (the one belonging to the Devil). This involved descending a tremendously steep road in the battered old minibus. Great fun, till it dawned on us we needed to go back up the same road.
We charged at it full pelt…
