Summer Camp 2013 Marble Tor

 Summer Camp 2013

Tor Hike

After the Communications Badge we headed upto Dartmoor National Park, initially for a well deseved ice-cream, which was sadly shut, so a hike across a couple of Tors was hastily organised. Whilst only two Tors were planned, a bonus Tor was included accidently due to rubbish compasses – at least that was the claim.

 A little windy on top.

House of Marbles

On first inspection it looked like a big shop.

On closer inspection it was the biggest surprise of the week. Marble museum, marble runs (sadly none to play with – museums should be more hands on these days, don’t you think!?) Glass blowing, cafe, marble play area, pottery thing (museum – I think) and a large moose head.

 Thoroughly recommend it!

The right-hand side of the big marble run is the best bit – although you have too wait a while. Make sure you cheer at the end – it bewilders the staff somewhat.
