Summer Camp 2005 Camp Reports
Summer Camp @ By Becky Friday: Every one dropped there stuff of at the scout hut on time (with a few late comers e.g. Kit-Kat) Saturday: We all met by the parish church hall ready to leave but a few of us had forgotten are lunch so we went to Tescos to buy some. When we finally arrived at our destination we had to set up camp in the pouring rain. Then we got settled into our tents that evening we went on a walk to find Pigs Bush we eventually found it thanks to Craig. (I think). Sunday: We had scouts own and after that we did some orienteering. The girls team didn?t do very well because we didn?t really know how to use the compass. So we gave up and played volley ball. In the afternoon we went swimming and all the leaders were trying to do back flips. Monday: We went to the motor museum which we thought would be really boring but it didn’t turn out that bad. The best bit was either the monorail or the wheels ride. Tuesday: Morning we did THE MEGALITH. Well done everyone who got to the top. In the afternoon first I did target shooting which was fun but Daisy you need to be more accurate. While we were doing this Craig decided to challenge Clive but it ended up Craig doing the leaders washing up for the rest of the week. Then we swapped over and we did high ropes (well done Fab for going to the top) Wednesday: we did mountain biking then rafting in the afternoon. The mountain biking wasn?t that bad but the rafting was just funny. Ray Kit- Kats shoe wasn?t in the re but while were trying to find her shoe Richard found a net. Thursday: Today Dan joined us to go to the Isle of Wight with us. When we got there we walked for about an hour to get to the beach we spent a couple of hour on the beach then headed back. Friday: Today we got woken up at 3:00 to sort our tent out because last night we had really heavy rain and most peoples tents got flooded so the leaders had to take a load of stuff to the laundrettes to be washed. They then met us at the swimming pool. Then in the afternoon we started to pack up. Saturday: We packed all the stuff up and headed back to Bristol. |
The following is our FIRST SUMMER CAMP 2005 REPORT, being that this person was not there is quite incredible, considering the accuracy of what went on… Ferny Crofts I didn’t actually go but, with a lot of research from the scout website I came up with this, because none of you are writing any reports! On Saturday you all met up at 10am and left Bristol for ferny crofts. When you got there you explored the site and put up your tents e.t.c, and later on you had dinner. On Sunday, you got ready for the day activity and had breakfast, then you did some orienteering on site, which was fun, then you had lunch. After lunch, you went swimming at Applemore leisure centre, that was cool. When you got back you had dinner, and then did an evening activity. On the Monday, you had breakfast, then got ready for your visit to Bealieu Motor Museum. Bealieu was quite interesting and educational! you also went on a monorail, which was exciting! The monorail took you around all the major parts. There was a playstation there so you all went on that and the James Bond thing! there was also a red bus thing and the adventure park, and a formula 1 thing. You thought it was going to be boring inside, but it was ok in the end. Then clive got lost!* On Tuesday, you had breakfast and then went climbing which was cool, then after lunch, some of you went to the high ropes and Craig bet clive that he wouldn’t do it, and ended up doing all the washing up! And the other group did the target shooting. After lunch the groups swapped around. On Wednesday, group one went to pick up the mountain bikes at 9am and went on them. While the other group did the raft building and most of you got wet and muddy! Then again you swapped after lunch. On Thursday you went on a boat trip to the isle of white and spent the day on the beach. It was a really hot day and you all went paddling and got mike wet! (Well everyone got wet!) And there was a storm, which was really bad, and you all got washed out. (Haha!) On Friday, you went swimming again at Lymington Open Air Sea Pool and went shopping in the town*. Then went home after lunch to start packing up to go home. On Saturday you went home after an exhausting week, and got there at about 5pm. By George, who wasn’t there! ** The only two bits that are wrong are we did not swim at Lymington Open Air Sea Pool and Clive did NOT get LOST (where on earth did you get that from!!) |
