Skiing & Snowboarding 2009
Saturday 12th September 2009
It had to be because the Cubs were there…
It was a glorious sunny day out at Churchill Ski slope, something was afoot. Nervous leaders sneeked cautious glances over their shoulders, there had to be a catch somewhere along the line. For the first time in many years, however, the Scouts were to revel in a momentous moment.
The sun shone all day.
A nice ski instructor strolled over to a couple of the leaders and commented on how good our Scouts were at skiing. Obviously it’s the many ski trips we run every year to equally sunny Austria!! With a rather small starter group, consisting mainly of Cubs it was great to see everyone going at their own pace.
I must mention the snowboarders, who were rather worried I’d refer only to skiing and miss out the word snowboarding. I’ve had it on fairly good authority that snowboarding is rather tricky to master. However, our two made it look simple if not a little fast. Did look a lot of faff though, and sitting on your behind. Still, each to their own. I’ve mentioned snowboarding though!
