One evening we were treated by a visit from the St Austell Coast Guard, who usually used our campsite to park in to carry out routine coastal inspections. On their way back we gave them a cuppa, and they kindly chatted to the scouts, providing information on what they do and showing us around their truck, which was filled with emergency and medical equipment. What’s more, they were both volunteers, so had to fit their duties around day jobs and personal lives – someone give them a medal! An inspiring talk that was a great addition to itinerary.
On our penultimate day, just before we began to take down some of the canvas, Jess led a group yoga session to relax us all before an afternoon of hard work! It was a 62nd first, only ruined by Harry, who couldn’t stop laughing. We did breathing exercises, and some groovy stretches that made us longing for some smashed avocado on toast.
