Due to the beautiful summer that ran right up until pack-up day, we were not allowed to light fires on site as everything was vary dry and flammable! The bonus of this was that it forced us onto the beach for campfires, which we agreed was one of our all time favourite campfire locations! Nobby Hall returned, there was a crazy moose (who drunk a LOT of juice), and even Nick joined in! Happy days.
We were lucky enough to have 2 campfires, the latter of which was preceded by an awesome beach BBQ which left everyone sufficiently stuffed, and in high spirits as we went to bed on our last night of camp. We also played this year’s King Kubb final on the beach, where the unforgiving pebbles tested our limited skill to the test! It was the leaders vs the pass the parcels, and after 5 misses at the King, the leaders managed to retain their prestige by winning the 2018 cup (no cheating, honestly!). However our initial cockiness and underestimation of the very strong opposition nearly cost us the championship!
