Leicester Square and Londopoly

‘Surely Londopoly in London is just Monopoly?!’…

We went to London to explore as many of the sights as possible, and over a morning and a long afternoon the following day we did just that! 3 teams of buccaneering urban explorers set off with a map and their Londopoly board, tasked with reaching as many of the landmarks listed as possible! In a manner similar to Gromopoly/Shaunopoly events of years gone by, the teams had to get pictures by different landmarks, which were all worth different amounts of points on their playing boards. However unlike walking around Central Bristol, the teams had no idea what landmark lay at each mark on the map!

The challenge took in Buckingham and St James’ Palaces, Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Coven Garden, Leicester Square and New Scotland Yard to name but a few! Walking far and wide throughout central London did wonders for the Leader’s step counts, and resulted in some suitably knackered Scouts! Other highlights included a trip to Hamleys, and a lunch stop in Leicester Square, where those brave (or foolish?!) enough familiarised themselves with the resident water jets – this usually ended in soggy Scouts, and even soggier Leaders!
