Clifton Bridge Vaults Tour
Way back when we were young, a small number of 62nd Scouts won a very special prize. A tour of the vaults of Clifton Suspension Bridge.
The vaults were only discovered as recently as 2002. Since then, only invited groups have been granted access. As prize winner of the Brunel Trail back in 2014 we were one of those invited groups.
After a quick tour above ground we descended below the Leigh Woods tower for a jaw-dropping, cathedral like space. Two of them infact.
Whilst only a short visit underground it was indeed an entirely special one and fully appeciated by all. Especially as so many other people wanted to have a go as well.
Thank you Helen and her staff in making this all possible.
A life of a Scout Leader is full of proud moments!
